Martha Living Magazine March 2014

I am surprised this issue hasn't made the rounds of all the bloggers as the cover was macarons!
This is the equivalent of a red flag to a bull for bloggers no?

There must be something in the subconscious that hits a note in a massive wave and quilting is one of those at present.
I don't sew.  Never even been on a sewing machine.
Yet I look at this quilt and imagine my own fabrics and special stitch to make it my own.
But Martha has that effect on us all.

Living Magazine September 2013

This is something I am sharing for your weekend read.

Martha being a savvy businesswoman made sure she competed with all the other September issues out there.  This issue was filled with so many tips that I hope to but probably will never use.

Do you write out your calendar like Martha?
I am thinking of starting one myself.
Doesn't she look so pretty?  Love how good she looks.
I am just surprised it has taken her so long to produce this blue and white chinoiserie collection.  If I lived near a Macy's, I would have already filled my cupboards with this.

Omelettes would look great on those plates.
Omelets are such a easy and delicious meal/snack.
For the non-foodies who might not know, most chefs are asked to make an omelet to show their skill as a chef and
not a complicated dish like Chateaubriand as one would suspect.

Living Magazine by Martha Stewart April 2013 Issue Review

For those of you who may not know, I am a magazine fiend.

One of my many subscriptions is Living by Martha Stewart.

I have a complicated relationship with her.

She is my hero / anti-hero ; my idol / my nemesis.

I take the mick out of her at times and have teased her on the blog as well.

But it is all in good fun.

I did go through the March Issue of Living but to be honest, there was nothing to share and it wasn't very inspiring and very "Martha".

This was the March cover without the verbage.

But she sure made up for it in the April Issue.

For a Living cover, I have to say I was a bit disappointed.
Where was the Martha-esque bling?

But I must say she made up for it between the sheets.

There was so much to file for future reference.

Happy new year!

As part of my new year resolutions, I went to look up Martha Stewart's organizing tip of the day.

Martha says I should pack up my holiday trimmings so I will be thankful I did this time next year.

But I shall be rummaging through my cupboards looking for my decorations and untangling them next year like everyone else.

Look at how she is packing up ornaments like it's some porcelain auction at Sotheby's....

My post-Christmas clean up will involve repairing my liver from alcohol and straightening out my life.  But ditto the bathroom.

Wishing you all out there a fantastic new year! : )))

Merry Xmas to all from Martha Stewart and me

Let me first say that I adore Martha Stewart.  She is what I really am but covered up under all the piles of books and the to do lists also piling up next to aforementioned books.  But she makes me laugh and I think I would never do half the things she said even if I was in prison.  ( no jokes please )

Christmas season is so hectic I can barely attend all the parties let alone do all the holiday chores.  But here is what we all should have done...

I was reading her December issue and wanted to share...

What do you mean you haven't built a replica of your house in gingerbread cookie form?

This is her country house!  She actually gave the recipe. Let me know if you want me to email it to you.

That chicken has a better blow-dry and highlights than Kate Middleton.

This is like that very old lamb roast recipe where it begins - first, chase after the lamb...

The real reason Martha keeps horses in her air conditioned stables - so their hair won't get frizzy.  Keep reading below and it will make sense.

Just in case you have run out of ideas for genuine thoughtful presents you can't find anywhere.

Google suitable boxes for twenty minutes in Japan, get waxed gold paper, find a seal stamp and wax and presto!

Merry Christmas everyone!

The season is over and now we can stop feeling guilty that we haven't done all  of this...
