Rachel Weisz's Golden Globe dress - you decide.

This is a last minute post - very topical so I wanted to put it out there when it was still relatively fresh.

Today, I am sure most of you have glanced through the dresses worn at the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

There was the usual array but one dress has completely divided everyone's opinions.

Even the press are split down the middle.

I am still unsure about this and am going to let you persuade me what you think.

Some said it was a hit!

The Telegraph thought it was a hit.

Some said it was miss.

 Some couldn't decide like me...

What do you think? Hit or miss?

If you don't feel like leaving a comment and typing - just click on the poll above this picture on the right hand side.

Poll closes in a week...

Many thanks! x

Homage to the TUBE - 150 years anniversary in London

This is a little off beat post but feel like sharing with you.

The subway system in London for those of you who may not know is called the Tube.

We all have a love/hate relationship with it in London.  I, like many others, like to sneer at it and complain but recently I have noticed that actually there is a lot of hidden beauty in the stations.

It has faithfully been serving the city for 150 years! The first tube ride was on January 9 1863.

Queen Victoria was in the middle of her reign then and she was the first monarch to have a Diamond Jubilee before the present Queen Elizabeth.

Queen Victoria in front of Kensington Palace - Kate and Wills live there now.  I was walking past early and no one was around so I took a picture for y'all.

One of the oldest platforms and stations of the Tube. Very Victorian example.
Iconic graphics of all the stations in the Underground.  You could spot it a mile away.

Nate Berkus through the AD Keyhole

I looked at this photo a few months ago in the Architectural Digest featuring Nate Berkus' home.

There was something that made me stop but I couldn't articulate or figure out what made me pause.

I kept a copy of the story as I am inclined to do and had another look and figured out what was bothering me.

This next picture is what I call Pseudo OCD / Neat Freak
Someone that organized would never put shoes inside past the hallway and into the inner sanctum of the home.

All that dog poo and gum on the bottom of shoes.
You put everything away but you hang your jacket on the chair?

 Come on Natey.

You have gone through all that trouble
so just put away your bag as well.

This is stunning don't get me wrong but the vibe is really posh, expensive therapist who conducts group therapy sessions.
Deliberate, slightly forced, calculated casual, clinical chic.

Lonny Mag Jan/Feb issue synopsis

I always look forward to the Lonny Mag issues -
it really is one of the publications that I can not believe is free.

This time though it seems like they had a different slant than usual and they had a massive reshuffle editorial meeting.  I know they got bought by Zimbio but this issue definitely had a different flavour for me.

I didn't save as many pictures or feel like I had to reread the magazine several times as I normally do.

But I still really enjoyed it - here are my favourite bits of the issue.
This is classic Lonny style - patterns, colors, light.  Almost like a mini Matisse picture.

One of my new year's resolutions...

I have a few resolutions for 2013 but experience has taught me to be realistic.

I will not be training for a marathon and eat 1000 calories a day for the rest of the year.

I am just going to be balanced and moderate.

I used to do yoga in manic but sporadic bursts.  I would do nothing for months and then go into a bootcamp like frenzy doing two classes a day.  So this is part of my new daily yoga routine.

Keepin' it real folks. Slowly but surely.

It is called - Viparita Karani - Legs up the wall.

You can do this anywhere - at home, if you have your own office, at school.

Against the wall in the corridor.

Living room.

Outside in the garden or against a tree in the park.

This is such a simple pose.  I do this while I watch my TV shows.

It is really lazy and very passive but it is also so beneficial for you.

To really prepare yourself for a deep sleep - it is better to close your eyes and calm your mind.

BENEFITS OF POSTURE

-  This prevents varicose veins and edema.

-  It soothes your nerves and slows your system down.

-  It relieves minor headaches, and backaches.

-  It could ease insomnia.

-  Alleviates menstrual cramps.

-  Improves digestion.

BUT DO NOT DO THIS POSE IF

You have Glaucoma

You have a neck or back injury

If you find this a little tough on the abs - people do use a bolster or a pillow for extra support like this.

You could use any pillow or roll up a blanket.

If you get really good you can do it this way.

Not as relaxing but you get extra yogi points.

Namaste. Om. Peace out.
