Architectural Digest March 2016

It could have been worse.

Kayne and Kim could have joined them.

I can do ironic and "keeping it real" social indulgences.

But I can't.

I just can't.

  4. Nonononononononononononoooooooooooo!

I would expect closeups of chairs designed to fit the famous rears. Aghast.

  7. How did I know this would be your next post? I saw the pics. on the dreaded Daily Mail and was pleased I let my subscription lapse.

  8. I'm dreading this arriving in my mailbox now. Seriously, the pandering to celebrity over actual design is just becoming ridiculous. I'm cancelling! I did it to Vogue when Kim and Kanye were on the cover, and now I"ll do it to AD. x

  10. They are taking over the world! Yuck. I don't understand the fascination with these people. Vogue is the worst. I can barely open my daily Vogue email anymore. There's one of them in there daily.

  11. I totally hear you. I have had it with that family! I am so sick of hearing about any member of that clan or who they are dating or what runways they are walking during fashion week. I let my Vogue subscription lapse after the Kim/Kanye cover. I couldn't believe Anna caved like that. So embarrassing. I think magazines are over anyway and that's why the editors feel the need to put Kardashians on the cover of them. They know magazines are over too. I expect the shake-ups to continue at Conde Nast. xx

  12. I think Kardashian backlash is the funniest thing. They dominate by being culturally omnipresent. They are culturally omnipresent because we talk about them! Interestingly they have the ability to sell US Weekly mags but mainstream mags perform poorly when wearing Kardashian covers. At least I think I read that sometime.
Also, how many of us have remained faithful AD readers? Not me. I let it expire in 2010. I suspect many others have dropped it, too. So AD's probably needing exposure to remain relevant, or at least known. No one offers better exposure than Kardashians.

  15. I thought AD showcased people with taste. Whenever my children hear the K word, they ask if those are the people who put their bums on the internet. That about sums it up!

  16. I didn't "re-up" with AD. It really is disgusting. And I am almost there with House Beautiful. Still big sighs for House & Garden.

  17. Well said, Naomi. Would like to have seen Naomi Watts and her husband's pad but just too hard to get past the cover. Hope you enjoyed Bangkok and your recent visit to Korea. Cheers, Pammie

  19. I don't know if you will see this comment and I know you are busy, but swing by Une Femme's blog when you have a moment, my fellow VCA lover! She went to the exhibit on view in Beverly Hills and there are some jaw-dropping pieces on display, including several items once owned by Liz Taylor, which are now privately held. Wowza. You have to see them! xx
