Just when I was getting Decor Fatigue and a Hello

Hello!  I have so many unpublished and now defunct past its sell by date posts clogging up the world's internet data storage.  I shall do some digital spring clean because unlike many of you, I don't even have guilt that I haven't spring cleaned nor probably won't declutter like a born again, centre left aligning, 'this year will be my year' divorcee.

But I am saying hello with a rather feeble attempt at a post.

Not that I need to, nor are you bothered, but I find editing on my new laptop really rather tedious.  I don't mind apple products but I do find their keyboards so feeble and anaemic.  I know some of you might get the old / new Nokia 3310 phone out of a ironic gesture but I may get it in earnest.

I have been in some sort of time vacuum and it is March already. I blame planning - I thought this year I would do what I normally do not do which is to plan.  I like spontaneity or so I said while I kept forgetting to plant bulbs or book a concert in the autumn season at the Royal Opera house. It is harder to do things on the spot in London especially as you will inevitably have to queue anyway.

Right - enough of this stream of chatting consciousness.

Please see the Ardmore collection by Cole & Son which I am tempted by.  And it has been a few seasons since I was taken by something decor related.

I blame Instagram.

I know you are waiting for a padded out, wordy, sarcastic reason why but I know you know why.

Because I am becoming a middle aged old fart.

I called someone out who, with intent, left dog mess on the streets.
In Britain, that is akin to a political movement few shades down from Brexit.

Have a lovely weekend x

  1. Hello CSW, I have that same problem with expired blog posts--I guess that I figure if I am not inspired enough to post it, I don't wish to inflict it on my readers. (The Calhoun issue stirred me up because the world insists on changing along the path of least resistance or thinking.) My reading lately has been uninspired, but I sense that the problem is with me--just not in a receptive mood. Maybe the spring will invigorate things, as it does the maple sap.

    1. I am really having trouble editing - plus I still haven't mastered the apple computer and its ways. Funny enough I have been the opposite and I read a novel which i haven't in a long time. But I am too looking forward to spring Jim!

  2. Oh I do like that collection! Especially the leopard walk wallpapers, lovely. Hmmm I know what you mean, I keep writing blog posts and not publishing them too. Not sure what that's about.
What happened when you called the person out? I hope there wasn't unpleasant shouting.
Do you have spring there yet? xx

    1. I am thinking of doing posts shorter but more often - oddly i felt undisciplined by not publishing . It was so funny bc I called out excuse me but she ignored me even though she was not far away from me - then 2 ladies said - oh yes - good on you - well done luv - then the dog lady starting mouthing but not vocalising - she was truly odd. She had the poshest accent when she actually did speak so really don't know what that was about! it is still in the cant make up its mind but the daffodils are out so there is hope of another cycle and we won't have another ice age xx

  6. Apple keyboards "feeble and anaemic". That's a great descriptor! However I like them.

  7. Love the dancing elephants. So very me.
As for dog mess, I'll always join you in calling out anyone who tries to walk off, without cleaning up after their dog. ( actually I have and I was given the bird but at least the poo was cleaned up). This week before the monsoonal rains came, I used an empty milk carton as a bat to push some dog poo into a shopping bag so I could get it off the nature strip in front of our home.
Well done on your plantings. Den xx

    2. Just read about the human défécating on the streets of south London who is being sought by police as he's done it a few times. Seriously hope it's fake news otherwise ... (I know I should be working as it's 9.11am here in overcast Sydney but wtf). Den xx

  8. Those "centre left aligning divorcees" have their collective French-cut panties in a bunch over recent political developments.

A 'Zambezi' over here freshens up the ice between hockey intervals.

GSL likes this Theresa May. No Whine Merchant she.

  9. There was an elderly man here in Brooklyn that used to take his dog in the middle of a (fairly high-traffic) street, when there were no cars, to do his business, just so the man didn't have to pick up after the pooch. I thought that was just about the tackiest dog owner I have ever seen!

  11. Naomi!!! Remember me, Kelly from My Soulful Home? I was just on an old post of mine and saw your comment there, so I thought I would say hey! "Hey" - how are you? Yes, March that is nuts, right? Fill me in on your life. All done with your renovation? We moved in an 1886 house - purchased from a epic hoarder. Whoa RENOVATION EXTREMIS' - Latin for a very big undertaking. Coming up for air now. Was so nice to see your comment & remember chatting when we first started blogging. Hope you are well!! xx

  12. I feel the same way. I can't be bothered with blog posts at the moment... it's kind of like i have too much to write, so procrastinate and don't really start. Then I have a bunch of drafts...
All the companies are coming out with new ranges at the moment, and I love that Cole &Sons one.
Dog poo!!! As a former dog owner, I was always picking up after my dog. It therefore annoys me when others don't. About a month ago I had to pick up someone else's large dog poo after it was left right in front of our front gate. You literally couldn't get out the gate without stepping in it. So antisocial to leave it there... xx

    1. Yes it is worse when you have a traffic jam of things to write almost.

It is so antisocial and one of those things in daily life that has a direct link to quality of life that doesn't require much effort to prevent which only infuriates further! xx

  13. Wow, I see Tulipmania has set in at home. I too would call out the irresponsible dog owner for fouling the streets of London. I've been known to do the same over here, literally running up to someone with a bag requesting that they clear up their mess off my lawn. The owner proceeded to tell me I was "disrespecting" her. The world has gone topsy-turvy!
